An overlay project is scheduled to begin Monday, Feb. 18 on the US-69B (South Ninth Avenue) from the Mineral Bayou Bridge to the new US 70 Bypass, Durant/Bryan County Emergency Management said.
Traffic on US-69B will be interrupted and down to one lane for the overlay project which is expected to take four weeks to complete. Once completed, this section of US-69B will go from two to three lanes of traffic; one north, one south, and a center turn lane.
Motorists should drive cautiously and watch for highway construction workers and flagmen on US-69B from the Mineral Bayou Bridge to the new US 70 Bypass during this overlay project. Reduced speed limits are posted and will be enforced for worker safety.
