A Durant man was critically injured in a crash east of Harthorne on State Highway 1 in Pittsburg County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Eric Tiger, 24, was listed in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. According to the patrol, the accident happened at 8:53 a.m. Sunday when Tiger, who was driving a 2009 Dodge, passed another vehicle and then ran off the roadway to the left. He over corrected and struck a 2007 Honda driven by Joffrey Banggawan, 41, Hartshorne.

Tiger’s vehicle then went off the right side of the road and rolled two and a half times. Tiger was ejected approximately 30 feet and a passenger, Allyson Smith, 22, Hartshorne, was thrown about 75 feet, the patrol said.

Smith was also listed in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital. Banggawan was treated and released at the scene.

Banggawan was the only one who wore a seat belt, according to Trooper Garrett Gray’s report.
