Calera hosting Red River Baseball Classic

CALERA - Ready for baseball? Good - The Bulldogs are hosting 15 games starting today through Saturday during the Red River Classic.

Eight teams from Oklahoma and two from Texas are participating. The action started at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Colbert Leopards versus Ector (Texas).

At noon, Sam Rayburn (Texas) will face the Tushka Tigers. At 2 p.m., the host Bulldogs will tangle with Stonewall, and at 4 p.m., rivals Caddo and Rock Creek will go head-to-head.

The nightcap games include some Choctaw County competition: At 6 p.m., Boswell plays the winner of Calera and Stonewall; at 8 p.m., Soper will have the winner of Caddo vs. Rock Creek.

Friday down-bracket games will be held at 10, noon, 2 and 4; winners bracket games will be held at 6 and 8.

On Saturday, the consolation finals will be held at noon with a third place game at 2 p.m. The championship is set for 4 p.m., weather permitting (40 percent chance of showers).
