Unsafe brakes were considered the cause of motorvehicle accident early Friday morning.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, a woman from Silo had put a vehicle into neutral and set the emergency brake in order to get out and open a gate about two miles west of Mead.

The vehicle then rolled forward, running over the driver. According to the report, “The vehicle continued on across the roadway and struck some small trees.”

The report stated the driver was “transported by care flight to Methodist Hospital in Dallas with head, leg, arm and trunk external and internal injuries. Listed in stable condition.”
