A Kingston woman was seriously injured Wednesday after her vehicle traveled left of center and struck a tractor-trailer rig southwest of Kingston on Highway 377, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Alicia M. Basden, 28, was admitted to the OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City, where she is in serious condition with head, internal and external trunk, arm and leg injuries.

According to the patrol, Basden was heading southbound in a Nissan sport utility vehicle when she traveled left and struck the left front tire of a northbound semi driven by Ricky Lee Rich, 48, Healdton.

The report stated that Basden, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. Rich was not injured.

Sleepiness and driving left of center were cited in Trooper Darren Alexander’s report as the causes of the crash.

In other crashes, one person was taken to the hospital late Thursday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 69/75 south of Luke Bros. in Calera. According to Calera Fire-Rescue, the victim suffered minor injuries.
