A rollover crash injured a Wylie, Texas, man Saturday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Zubair Kahn, 18, was flown by LifeStar helicopter to the Medical Center of Plano, Texas, where he is in stable condition with arm, trunk and head injuries.

According to the patrol, Zubair was a passenger in a car driven by Zachariah Sequoia Champagne, 18, Connerville.

The patrol said Champagne was southbound on Highway 48 south of Highway 22 in Kenefic when he drove off the roadway, overcorrected and overturned one time, striking a fence and tree.

Both occupants wore seat belts. Unsafe speed on a curve was cited in Trooper David McCutcheon’s report as the cause of the wreck.

In other news, arson was the cause of a fire that burned a residence at 1546 S. Ranchette Road Friday evening. According to a report by Bryan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Nave, the West Bryan County Fire Department said the fire had been set.

Nave noticed that a door had been kicked in and the carpet was burned around the door area, plus the electrical box in the living room was melted. There was also a hole burned through the flooring.

According to the report, the fires appeared to have started in those two areas.

Nave searched the home after it was cleared by firefighters and he found ingredients that were possibly for a methamphetamine lab, the report stated.
