A Boswell man was killed Wednesday after he was ejected from his pickup on an Atoka County road southeast of Lane.

Michael Duane Honeycutt, 31, was dead at the scene of the 1:10 p.m. crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Honeycutt was northbound in a Chevrolet pickup when he failed to make a curve and drove off the left side of the road, according to the patrol. The pickup rolled two-and-a-half times, ejecting the driver.

Excessive speed on a curve was cited in Trooper Jack Walker’s report as the cause of the crash. Honeycutt was not wearing a seat belt.
