Lorene Rice 73, of Denison, Texas, passed away Monday night Oct. 26, 2009, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Durant, Okla., and was the daughter of the late Irlan and Dessie Downs Polston. She attended Whitewright, Texas, schools. She married Paul Rice July 11, 1952, in Colbert, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson Keith Webster.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a longtime member of Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison. Her home was always open to friends and family. She loved garage sales, swap meets and flea markets. Her family was her life and she will be deeply missed and will live on in all our hearts.

Surviving are her children Tony Rice and wife Vickie, Connie Webster and husband Glenn, Tim Rice and wife Judy all of Denison, Texas, Laurie Smith and husband Tommy of Eufaula, Okla., and Tracy Rice of Denison, Texas, eight grandchildren Christy Webster, Stacy Rice and wife Shawna, Tina Rice, Timmy Rice, Misty Rice, Brian Rice and wife Sarah, Thomas Smith, and Brittany Rice, 16 great-grandchildren Candace, Robert, Trevor, Jada, Katy, Preston, Holden, Hunter, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Brinton, Gage, Collin, Trenton, Joseph and Madison, five sisters Jan Polston, Jenny McCoy, Mary Polston, Wanda Vander and Pam Tedford, and two brothers Billy John Polston and Eddie Polston.

Memorial services for Lorene Rice will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison with Mr. Basil McClure officiating. Her care and arrangements have been entrusted to Carl Cunningham and Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
