Bob was a longtime resident of Bryan County having lived in the Kemp area and in Calera since 1955 when he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He was a self-employed cattle buyer since 1963. Bob was very active and was a huge supporter of the Bryan County Fair. He had served on the board of Farm Bureau Insurance for 35 years. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed roping and raced horses for many years. Bob married Alice King on Feb. 11, 1993, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his wife Alice of the Calera home; children, Angela Bauer and husband Dan of Calera, Andrea Diehl and husband Ty of Cartwright, Robin Spyker and husband Don of Rockwall, Texas, Lisa Allen and husband Darrell of Achille, Chanda Campbell of Liberty, Okla., and Keri Campbell of Tulsa; four grandchildren Bethany and Brenton Rucker, Zane Craig Allen, and Emily Grace Spyker; and several brothers in law and sisters in law.
Funeral services for Bob will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, Durant, with Don Hyde Jr. and Brian Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera. Pallbearers will be Brad Clark, Kyle Wollenenburg, Gary Forbis, Gary Owens, and Billy Fraze. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Fraze, Bill Busby, Harvey Hogan, Lynn Jackson and Roger Thurber.
Family visitation will be Sunday from 4–6 p.m.
