Hazel Louise Latham Maddux, 87, of Savannah, Ga., widow of Robert Velton Maddux, peacefully left us in Savannah to live with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Feb. 11, 2010. Born in Boswell, Okla., on Jan. 7, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Frank Louis Latham and the late Mary Louise Crawford Latham. Mrs. Maddux was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Smith, Ruth Wike, Irene Smith and Joyce Hamilton, and two brothers, F. L. Latham and Earl Latham.

Surviving are her son Robert David Maddux and wife Dianne, Yuma, Ariz.; daughter Sherida L. Dykes and husband Bill, Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren, Darren Maddux, Kristianne Cutsforth and husband Lance, Melissa Bates and husband Paul, and Meredith Epperson; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Cutsforth, Victoria Cutsforth, Abigail Cutsforth, Sydney Bates and Zoe Bates; sister Mary Edith Dancer and husband J. W., Durant, Okla.; sister-in-law Patricia June Gage, Visalia, Calif., and many loving nieces and nephews. The members of her family and friends, who loved her dearly, will miss her always.

She always brightened the lives of those who knew her with her ready smile and cheerful attitude. Resilience, dignity and grace were all the hallmarks of her character. These memories will live in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. Friday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at Northwest Church of Christ, conducted by Minister Andy Burns. Interment will be in Boswell Restland Cemetery in Boswell.

Pallbearers will be Lance Cutsforth, Nicholas Cutsforth, Jim Dancer, Aaron Dancer, Bill Dykes and Bill Neblett. Kevin Dancer is a honorary pallbearer.

Remembrances can be made at Northwest Church of Christ, 1421 Chuckwa Dr., Durant, OK 74701-2101.
