You know what it is — it’s perhaps the most popular golf tournament in our state and it’s absolutely the most fun you can have without risk of being deported.
The Classic is a two-way winner. Golfers have the opportunity to whack the ball around a gorgeous course overlooking Lake Texoma without fear of a drive actually landing in Snorkle City.
Golfers also have the opportunity to participate in the major fundraiser for the Southeastern Foundation, Inc. All proceeds go toward Foundation scholarships and other University needs.
It’s a great way to help make possible a college education for needy students.
It’s a great way to put yourself in line for some outstanding prizes, good food, and great fellowship.
THE SE CLASSIC is an 18-hole, 6-person scramble and limited to the first 26 teams to register.
Warning: Nineteen teams had registered at Tuesday’s count. A student who has taken advantage of one of those Foundation scholarships could tell you that leaves room for only seven more teams.
Golfers may register as teams or individuals. Registration fee is $125 per player and includes greens fee, cart, food and drinks; registration gift;a chance at some great prizes; a day of kicking back and boasting of some great scores you have shot elsewhere without your present playing companions.
The day starts at 7:30 a.m. with registration and the practice range available. A continental breakfast is set for 8 a.m. and a shotgun start will be heard ‘round the course at 8:30.
A huge buffet will be catered to the course and golfers can chow down preceding, during and following the awards presentation.
Sponsorships are available on several levels, ranging from Hole Sponsor at $100 to Platinum Sponsorship at $3,500.
To register or for more information: www.SE.edu/foundation/pgc or Southeastern Foundation@SE.edu. Information is also available at 580-745-2236.
Don’t be left out: Register now. If not, your friends who did register will most likely talk about you and you stand a great chance of being appointed to low-level positions on committees of which you have never heard.
Along with all of the above, the Classic features the world’s greatest registration team. If these folks can’t make you smile, you need counseling.
