Earline Blakney Speers, 85, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of White Settlement, 7801 White Settlement Road, White Settlement, TX. Nephew Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will be at 4 p.m. in Caddo Cemetery, Caddo, Okla. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, TX 76126.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bobby and Mike Cook, Shawn and Todd Tallant, Donnie Speers and Stephen Counts.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Earline was born June 29, 1924, in Caddo, Okla., to Will and Annie Blakney. She went to school at Caddo High School. Earline married J.C. Speers of Caney, Okla., on May 21, 1942, in Atoka, Okla. In 1950, they moved to White Settlement, where they raised their five children. She was a member of First Baptist Church of White Settlement. She enjoyed cooking for her family, shopping, traveling and being with family and friends. She will be truly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, J.C. Speers; brother, Jimmy Blakney; sisters, Lou Ellen Pauley, Ruby Hansen, Alma Ledbetter and twin sister, Alline Peters; and one great-grandson.
Special thanks to the staff at Benbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care, and the doctors and nurses on the seventh floor at Texas Health Harris Methodist, Fort Worth.
Survivors include Sons, Larry Speers, and Jerry Speers and his wife, Kathy; daughters and their husbands, Judy and Howard McKee, Darlene and Kenneth Tallant, and Vickie and Wally Counts; adopted son, Mario Illas; grandchildren, Bobby and Mike Cook, Diana Sieko, Shawn and Todd Tallant, Donnie Speers, Traci Bounds, Misti Pollard, Stephen and Casey Counts; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Taylor; brother-in-law, Bud Peters; sisters-in-law, Narine Blakney, Tressa Powell and Maridell Powell; and many nieces and nephews.
