Mary Lou Jordan entered this life on May 1, 1931 in Caney, OK born to Phillip and Allie Louise (Welch) Richardson and passed from this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in Sherman, TX at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 13 days. Mary attended school in Caney and later married Wayne Jordan on December 22, 1949, in Durant and they were blessed with four children. Mary was a loving daughter, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Mary was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, her flower garden and cooking. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Those loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 60 plus years, Wayne Jordan of the home; children, Mary Kay Nabors and husband Larry of Durant, Waynette Taylor of Durant, Ronald Wayne Jordan and wife Barbara of Muskogee, OK and John David Jordan and wife Lisa of Bennington; brothers and sisters, Teddy Richardson of Durant, Sandra Janell Chamblee and husband Harrell of Irving, TX, Jane Wolfe and husband Fred of Gilbert, AZ and Eddie Fordyce and wife Ruth of Boulevard, CA; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Lois Ellison; brother in law, Joe Jordan both of Durant; and many other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Danny Wood will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Larry Nabors, Clark Grimes, Don Taylor, A.J. (Muggs) Culbreath, Bill Garner and James Russell serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 7-8:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mary’s name to your favorite charity.
