Mineral Bayou Bridge soon to be replaced

Highway 69B (South Ninth Avenue) will be closed to all through traffic at the Mineral Bayou Bridge beginning Nov. 7, Durant/Bryan County Emergency Managenent announced.

It will be closed to replace the bridge over Mineral Bayou Creek. Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials anticipate that the roadway will be closed for 130 calendar days for the construction of the bridge and adjoining roadway to the new bridge.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes and to allow extra time to reach their destinations. Traffic going north on US-69B (South Ninth Avenue) will be diverted at Choctaw Road, except for local residents. Traffic going south on US-69B will be diverted at Arkansas Street, except for local residents.
