Theatre at Southeastern proudly presents the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol Thursday, November 15 through Saturday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. in historic Montgomery Auditorium on the Southeastern Oklahoma State University campus. “This award-winning production includes all the thrills and chills one expects of this terrific holiday classic!” said department chair Dell McLain.

This production, adapted from the Dickensian classic by Jonathan Moscone for the Dallas Theatre Center, features a magical and fast-paced narrative that sticks closely to the original plot, using direct excerpts from the novel to tell the story. Penny-pinching miser Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the spirit of his former business partner Jacob Marley, as well as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet To Come. By examining his life and the consequences of his actions, Scrooge begins to understand the true meaning of the holidays.

“This is going to be one of the most immersive productions Southeastern has produced in a number of years,” said Dustin Curry, a junior from London, Arkansas, who plays to role of Ebenezer Scrooge. “The costumes and set are going to be spectacular, and I’m looking forward to recreating this character and this story for our audiences.”

Dell McLain directs Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, adapted by Jonathan Moscone, with scenic design by Corey King, costume design by Kathleen Hardgrove, lighting design by Darrin Wade, sound design by Steven Mackey, and properties design by Domanick Hubbard. The cast includes Dustin Curry as Ebenezer Scrooge, Nick Growall as Bob Cratchit, Joel Dameron as Jacob Marley, Minda Rocha as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and Rebecca Ford as the Ghost of Christmas Present. The cast also features Kevin Anastasio, Courtney Baker, Jessica Black, Bonnie Boone, Riley Collard, Brianne Cothran, Sheridan Hill, Sarah Hodson, Domanick Hubbard, Brittany Lopez, Megan Mackey, Landry Miller, Kylie Page, Trent Pratt, Tanner Risner, Ashleigh Self, Patrick Southerland, and Rebecca Sparks.
