Chief Gregory E. Pyle and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's Outstanding Elders for 2012 – Willie Walley of District 9 and Carolyn Bohanan of District 7. The 14th annual Outstanding Elder Banquet was held Nov. 1 at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant. Outstanding elder nominees from all of the districts were also recognized and enjoyed a special evening held in their honor.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma held its 14th annual Outstanding Elder Banquet Nov. 1 at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant. Outstanding elders from all of the districts were recognized and enjoyed a special evening held in their honor.

Two of the nominees were chosen from the tribe’s 17 community centers as this year’s top male and female elders, judged by a panel of three to be awarded for their exceptional accomplishments. This year’s Outstanding Elders are Willie Walley of District 9, Durant, and Carolyn Bohanan of District 7, Wright City.
