Margaret Rose Pigg a long time resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the age of 83 years 1 month and 27 days. She was born in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 5, 1929 to Floyd (Bud) Rufus and Mildred (James) Koonce. Margaret married Cleo Pigg on Monday, February 10, 1947 in Sherman, Texas.

Margaret was a person who committed her life to caring for her home and family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma and a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Margaret worked for the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma for many years. She was also employeed by the Holiday Inn and the First Baptist Church. Margaret considered the greatest blessing of her life to be her family and cherished the time they spent together.

Mrs. Pigg is survived by her sons, Dale Pigg of Dallas, Texas and Kenneth Pigg of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Darla Giles of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tommy Mote and wife Kristy of Durant, Oklahoma, Eric Giles of Durant, Oklahoma and Ashley Giles of Paris, Texas; great-grandchildren, Montana Whitley of El Paso, Texas, Cameron Mote of Durant, Oklahoma, MacKenzie Mote of Durant, Oklahoma, Brenden Mote of Durant, Oklahoma, Ladisha Turner of Paris, Texas, Landon Turner of Paris, Texas,and Aaliyah Harmon of Paris, Texas; great-great grandson, Christian Blackburn of El Paso, Texas; sister, Zelda Merritt of Durant, Oklahoma; niece, Debra Merritt of Durant, Oklahoma; nephew, Ronnie Merritt of Calera, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Pigg was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd (Bud) and Mildred Koonce; husband, Cleo Pigg; grandson, Christopher Giles.

Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Pigg, Kenneth Pigg, Tommy Mote, Eric Giles, Ronnie Merritt and Joey Bailey. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cameron Mote.
