TUSHKA – The Tigers fought off a hot-shooting Hartshorne team on Thursday to take a 69-63 victory on opening day of the Tushka Invitational Tournament at Jerry O. Hall Gymnasium.

Garrette Wall and Lane Faulkenberry scored 20 each for Tushka. Faulkenberry got 18 points on six three-pointers – five during a second half rally by the Tigers. Jody Moreland added 16 and Wyatt Daniel scored 10 for Tushka (9-4).

“It was an all-around effort, a good offensive night,” said Tushka Coach James Pannell. “Hartshorne is an active and scrappy bunch. Our kids played with a lot of determination. When you do that, you cover up mistakes and win ballgames.”

Moyers led 29-22 at the half but the Scorpions outscored the Tigers 42-33 in the second half. Boswell’s 26 point fourth quarter was the key, as Collier and Caleb Brown hit big threes late to swing the momentum.
