Betty Jo “Lemons” Tracy a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the age of 86 years 8 months and 3 days. She was born in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Alvie and Ola Mae (John) Lemons on Sunday, May 9, 1926. Betty Jo Lemons married Donald Tracy on Friday, July 27, 1945.
Betty Jo was a member of the Bennington Baptist Church. She was an Avon Representative for 25 years. Betty Jo loved bowling with her husband Donald, and enjoyed both vegetable and flower gradening. But her life’s work was taking care of everybody.
Mrs. Tracy is survived by her daughters, Kay Tracy of Mesquite, Texas, Donna Tracy of Greenwood, Indiana and Sharon Morgan of Mesquite, Texas; granddaughters, Courtney Vinson and husband Stephen of Marietta, Oklahoma, Bethany Morgan of Mesquite, Texas and Whitney Mesker of Wylie, Texas; brother, James Lemons and wife Carmen of Hagerstown, Maryland; sisters, Peggy Lemons of Bennington, Oklahoma and Gayle Barnes and husband William of Bennington, Oklahoma; 8 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Ola Mae Lemons; husband, Donald Tracy; daughter, Barbara (Tracy) Mesker.
Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Bennington, Oklahoma with Bro. Ron Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Barnes, Ethan Vinson, Garrett Vinson, Clyde John, Richard Mesker, Tony Lemons and Stephen Vinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Combs, Mikayla Zoellner, Connor Vinson, Wyatt Vinson, Christian Booth, Noah Steinmetz, Bob Lemons and William Lemons.
