A date has been set for the formal arraignment of 32-year-old Stacey Jones for next month. Jones is being charged with first-degree burglary.
The charges are for allegedly breaking into a Calera residence in October 2012.
Home alone at the time was 12-year-old Kendra St. Clair who hid in her mother’s bedroom closet and shot through the closet door when she heard the intruder outside of the door.
Jones’ preliminary hearing was held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Bryan County Courthouse.
St.Clair was called to testify. She explained once again how the events that day unfolded. Also called to testify were officer Brock Jones who was first on scene and Investigator John Bates who first questioned Jones.
Judge Mark Campbell determined there was enough evidence in the case to pursue the burglary charges set against Jones and set a formal arraignment for him Feb. 19.
Jones remains in jail.
