Don Maupin a lifelong resident of Durant, Oklahoma was born on November 21, 1925 in Durant to George A. and Lois Evans Maupin and passed from this life on February 7, 2013 at the age of 87.

Don graduated from Durant High School and then served his county in the Army National Guard 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Durant and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Don worked for Ben Seigal and E&M Clothiers. After his retirement, Don devoted his time to the Durant Public Library. Don was a member of the Eastside Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed fishing, reading, stamp collecting, genealogy, and sharing the history of Durant.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois Maupin.

Don is survived by his brother Jerry Maupin and wife Donna of Naperville, IL; nieces Karen Clark and husband Mark of Oswego, IL and Lisa Allen of Aurora, IL; great nephews Garrett Maupin of Naperville, IL and Michael Clark of Oswego, IL; his adopted family Shelly Asher and her children Thomas Holland, Cynthia Holland, Candice Dunn and Michelle Stewart along with ten grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM. A private family service will be held on Wednesday. Reynolds Community Center and Library 1515 West Main Durant, OK 74701
