Chicken ovaries solve one puzzle; don’t help with immigration woes

Rest easy, America.

We may or may not find a workable way to plug the British Petroleum oil spill, but British scientists have solved the riddle of the ages.

It’s the chicken, doofus.

The chicken came first, not the egg.

According to an article on msnbc.com, Brit scientists have established the definitive answer by examining a chicken’s ovaries.

It seems a certain protein is necessary for the formation of the egg and that particular protein is found only in a chicken’s ovaries.

Therefore, it seems the egg can be created only inside a chicken.

Some of the scientists and professors are ecstatic, saying it is fascinating to understand how chickens make eggs. They also say this discovery could have other uses, but failed to specify those uses.

The article didn’t mention how long the scientists have been operating on the ovaries to come up with this information.

It’s not like we didn’t need this knowledge, you know. How many hours have you spent trying to solve this riddle of the chicken or the egg?

This easily rates right up there with cataloging the mating habits of sperm whales or centipedes and it’s just stuff we need to know.

Get over it.

HOW ABOUT OUR federal government filing a lawsuit against Arizona’s immigration law?

The lawsuit says something about our constitutional system giving the feds preeminent authority to regulate immigration matters.

Okay, no problem. Dear Federal Government, please get off your duff and regulate immigration matters.

Also from the lawsuit: The nation’s immigration laws reflect a careful and considered balance of national law enforcement, foreign relations, and humanitarian interests.

Whoever said this with a straight face deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

Federal law already makes it illegal to be in our country illegally. Well, duh! Come on, feds, execute or get off the pot.

PRESIDENT OBAMA spoke on immigration reform a few days ago.

Obama is afraid other states will enforce their own immigration laws since the federal government has failed miserably. He says one clear national standard is needed.

Federal law makes it illegal to be in our country illegally. How much more standard do we need? What part of that do we not understand?

What we need is somebody to enforce the federal law. Arizona’s law would then no longer be needed.

What we need is someone with enough guts to do what’s right instead of what will provide more illegal voters.

Perhaps we should dig deeper into those ovaries.
