Jettie Lee (Pitts) Ross passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the age of 95 years 3 months and 14 days. She was born on Wednesday, January 10, 1917 in Boswell, Oklahoma to William Lee and Mary Allie (Hall) Pitts. Jettie Pitts married her prince among men Noel Ross in Boswell, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 30, 1939.

Jettie taught in the area country schools for 30 years. She graduated from Boswell High School and received her Bachelor degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She was a member of the Boswell Methodist Church. Jettie was active in civic affairs such as the 109 Road Association and the Boswell Library. She enjoyed reading, painting, politics, quilting, knitting, crocheting and most of all visiting with friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her daughter, Penelope (Penny) Ross of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Robin Ross of Denison, Texas; great-grandson, Alvin Ross of Denison, Texas and many friends.

Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Ross in 1979; son, Ronald Ross in 1973; parents, William Lee and Mary Allie Pitts; brothers, Bernice Pitts, Avis Pitts, Granvil Pitts, Cherry Pitts, Irving Pitts, and Homer Pitts; sisters, Pauline Pitts and Sybil Millar.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Restland Cemetery Pavillion in Boswell, Oklahoma with Donnie Goodwin officiating.
