Fred E. “F.E.” Mashburn Jr. entered this life on May 20, 1927 in Frederick, Oklahoma born to Fred E. Mashburn Sr and Mary Ellen Young Mashburn and passed from this life with his family by his side on November 29, 2012 at his home.
Fred attended and graduated from Durant High School and worked as a building contractor until his retirement. He married Bette Jo Watson on March 7, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and to this union was born four children. Fred was an Elder at the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with family and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by parents; son Joe Paul Mashburn; brothers Cecil, Ralph, Wayne and Ward Mashburn; sisters Quilla Kidwell and Wilma Avant and daughter in law Diana Mashburn.
Fred is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 plus years Bette Jo Mashburn of the home; daughter Alvadean Marcho and husband Robert of Durant; sons Randell S. Mashburn and wife Paula of Atoka and Fred E. Mashburn III and wife Charlotte of Durant; sisters Wanda Kaufman and husband Fred of Hutchinson, Kansas and Zelma Hollenbeck of Marlboro, New York; grandchildren Craig Marcho, Carrie Sullivan, Amy Fulcher, Michael Joe Mashburn, M’Lisa Welch, JoLee Brooks, Erin Richardson, Natalie Burrage, Stephanie Cooper, Amy Jamison and Nikki Dodson; 23 great grandchildren; sister in laws Vesta Warden and Icie Mae Watson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Fred’s will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant. George Hatfield and John Carroll will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Michael Mashburn, Dylan Giguere, Cooper Sullivan, Conner Sullivan, Jack Case and Craig Marcho serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Mauck, Mickey Davis, Ron Taylor, John Carroll and Calvin Gordon. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 P.
