Ada Marcella Swearingin, 95, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Highland Cemetery, Durant, OK with Pastor Lee Armstrong officiating. Ada was born Friday, December 10, 1917 in Wade, Oklahoma to Earl Park and Alice Allison Goad. She married Charlie Swearingin on July 18, 1972 in Bowie, TX. She taught Sunday school for seventeen years at the First United Methodist Church in Durant. She taught second grade in Calera, Ok from 1957-1965, then taught third grade in Denison at Golden Rule Elementary until her retirement in 1976.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Umsted of Denison, TX, Marylin Woodress and husband Wayne; sister Ann Manning and husband Tom of Garner, NC; two grandchildren David Woodress of Denison, TX, Delaine Brown and husband Scott of Durant, OK; four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Waples United Methodist Church in Denison, TX or to the Donald W. Reynolds Public Library in Durant, OK. Personal condolences may be sent to www.bratcherfuneralhome.com.
