Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop E troopers were presented Troop Commander Awards during a meeting last week at the Troop E Headquarters in Durant.
Trooper Seth Leyba received Overall Top Impaired Driving Enforcement for taking more than 80 impaired drivers off of the roadways.
Trooper Rocky Green received Overall Total Enforcement Contacts/Seatbelts. He had more than 2,300 contacts in 2023.
Trooper Brycen Collins received Overall Total Enforcement Contacts. He had more than 2,300 contacts in 2023.
Trooper Sedrick Frierson received Overall Top Seatbelt Enforcement. He stopped more than 400 drivers for occupant protection violation.
Trooper Darrell Wofford received the Dedication to Leadership award for working as an acting supervisor in Troop E for 2023.
Trooper Chris Smith received the Detachment Leader in Criminal Arrest award (Drugs/DUI). Smith led his detachment in criminal arrests and DUIs.
Trooper Lane Teel received the Detachment Leader in Criminal Arrest award and he led his detachment in criminal arrests and had the second highest number of DUI arrests.
Trooper Jamey Miller received the Detachment Leader for Community Involvement award.
Trooper Jeffrey Morris received the Detachment Leader in Criminal Arrest/ Drug Interdiction. He led his detachment in Criminal arrests and DUIs.
Trooper E Commander Capt. Scott Hampton said he is very proud of all of the troopers within Troop E and that he was proud to present the awards to honor their achievements.
“Every day, the Troop E Troopers go out and make the county roads and highways safer through motor vehicle enforcement,” Hampton said.
Troop E covers Bryan, Atoka, Coal, Choctaw, Pushmataha and McCurtain counties. Currently, there are 27 troopers, three lieutenants and one captain assigned to Troop E.
