After receiving a pair of district forfeits early in the week, Durant’s baseball squad split a pair of nonleague matchups with Sulphur and Ardmore.

Coach J.W. Parsons’ club was on the wrong end of a 4-0 decision against Sulphur before going on the road to top long-time rival Ardmore, 3-0, while upping their record to 15-16 on the year following the two forfeits from Tulsa Memorial.

The Lions could never get much going offensively in the loss to Sulphur, managing just two hits in the contest with both coming on singles by Lucas McClure.

Sulphur posted a run in the first stanza and made that lead hold until the seventh when the Bulldogs picked up three runs.

Cole Robbins and Kolton Mason combined for six stellar innings, yielding one run on five hits with three strikeouts and a pair of walks.

Pitching was again stellar against Ardmore and proved to be enough as the Lions made the most of two hits once more.

Holdan Robinson worked the first three scoreless stanzas, allowing one hit with three strikeouts. Reid Thompson twirled three frames as well, yielding one unearned run on one hit and fanned five with Kaden Neill adding a perfect seventh.

The visiting Lions scored all three of their runs in the third inning when they posted both of their hits in the game.

Jackson Williams opened the frame with a single before backto- back walks to Robbins and Neill loaded the bases with one out. Elijah McClure coaxed another free pass for an RBI and Lucas McClure pitched in a run-scoring single. Jared Avalos also had a sacrifice fly to plate a run.
