Calera Public Schools announced that kindergarten teacher Debra Crawford, one of Calera’s own graduates, has been selected as a finalist for the Elementary Educator Merit Award by the Professional Oklahoma Educators Foundation.
She will represent the school at the Excellence in Educator Banquet on April 11. Crawford began her teaching journey by teaching 1/2 day pre-k, sixth-grade English and sixth-grade PE during her first year. She then spent two years teaching pre-k and for the rest of her 30-year career, she has been shaping young minds in kindergarten.
“Her dedication and passion for education have made a lasting impact on our students and community,” the school district said. “We are so lucky to have her as part of the Calera family.”
