Choctaw Cultural Center wins Indigenous Tourism award

The Choctaw Cultural Center won the 2025 Excellence in Customer Service Award at the Indigenous Tourism Awards ceremony. It was presented recently at the 27th Annual American Indigenous Tourism Conference in Choctaw, Miss.

The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in tourism, recognizing individuals and organizations from across the country that contribute to the industry’s yearly $11.6 billion economic impact.

“Hospitality is an important part of Choctaw culture,” states Cheyhoma Dugger, director of Development and Membership at the cultural center. “We work to ensure that all guests have the opportunity to experience the best in Choctaw customer service during every visit. We are honored to be recognized for these efforts by the American Indigenous Tourism Association.”

The Excellence in Customer Service award was presented to the Choctaw facility noting that since the center’s opening in 2021, its “dedicated team is committed to ensuring every visitor feels welcomed, creating a truly transformative experience.”

In its introduction, the Indigenous Tourism Awards Association said, “The Choctaw Cultural Center is a one-of-a-kind destination where rich history and vibrant traditions come to life, serving as a focal point for tribal culture and offering an immersive and authentic experience.”
