The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Women’s Volleyball Team offered tips recently to Choctaw Nation elders. Members of the District 9 Seniors Chair Volleyball Team were coached to improve their game skills by the college players. About 30 seniors, some in their 80s and 90s, play weekly at the Choctaw Wellness Center in Durant.
Chair volleyball is a popular and growing sport with teams formed at 17 Choctaw Wellness Centers and Community Centers across southeast Oklahoma.
