The Durant Main Street “Pearls and Prohibition” Met Gala was May 2 at Lost Street Brewing Company and many awards were presented.
“The DMS Met Gala serves to showcase outstanding community organizations, celebrate the businesses and endeavors in the historic downtown, and help to fund raise for the Main Street program,” said Main Street Executive Director Stephanie Swicker.
The following awards were presented:
District Awards
Best Visual Merchandising- Social Seasons Boutique Best Window and Curb Appeal-Bliss Boutique Best Entrepreneurial Endeavor-The Pink Place District Business of the Year-Kopper Kettle Kitchen Store Volunteer of the Year- Piper De-Long Board Member of the Year- Melodee Teran These will go on to compete in the Oklahoma Main Street awards. The businesses were nominated and voted on by the community.
Special District Recognitions Maty’s Jewelry Durant Lumber- True Value Runway awards are as follows: Best Choreographed- The Payton Project Best Community Representation-Cherokee Communications Overall Favorite- The Boys & Girls Club of Durant Next year’s Met Gala will be May 1 with a “Noir After Dark” theme.
