The Oklahoma Federation of Democratic Women (OFDW) met recently in Oklahoma City for its annual convention, with county groups traveling there from many parts of the state. Bryan County Federation of Democratic Women (BCFDW) won the “traveling gavel” for having the largest number of registrants coming the most miles. Attending from Bryan County were Pat Notley of Durant, chair of Bryan County Democratic Party (BCDP); Barbara Nicholson and Charlotte Young of Bokchito; and Marion Hill of Durant, second vice-president of OFDW. Young is secretary for Congressional District #2 of the Oklahoma Democratic Party (ODP). Convention attendees heard numerous candidates who are running in upcoming elections and shared their experiences with organizing rallies and other public events. The convention celebrated 60 years since OWFI was founded. Photo provided
