Silo FCCLA members attend State Convention, earn top honors

Members of the Silo High School and Middle School FCCLA chapters recently attended the Oklahoma FCCLA State Convention, held April 2, 2026, in Tulsa at the Arvest Convention Center. The event brought together more than 4,600 student members, advisers, and guests from across the state for a day of leadership, recognition, and celebration.

Throughout the convention, chapters were recognized for their outstanding achievements, including honors such as FCS Participation Awards, Chapters of Excellence, and top placements in STAR Events—a competitive program that showcases students’ skills in areas like leadership, career preparation, and community service.

• Jaxon Thomas, 7th Grade, earned 3rd Place in Entrepreneurship Level 1

• Bentley Dodds, 8th Grade, earned 2nd Place in Event Management Level 1

• Molly Murphy and Bailey Sanford, both 8th Grade students, earned 2nd Place in Focus on Children Level 1 The Oklahoma FCCLA State Convention serves as the premier event of the year for members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, explore career pathways, and be recognized for their hard work.

“Oklahoma FCCLA State Convention is the ultimate celebration of our members each year,” said Brittani Phillips, Oklahoma FCCLA State Adviser. “We are proud to recognize their accomplishments, celebrate their growth, and close out the year stronger than ever—with a record-breaking 28,000 members across the state.”

Six students from the Silo Chapters are currently working to raise funds to represent Oklahoma at the National Leadership Conference July 6-10, 2026 in Washington D.C. Members will serve as Voting Delegates and compete against the best and brightest from across the nation.
