Silo High School student elected as National Officer at National Leadership Conference

SEATTLE, Wash. - Brandon Weibel from Silo High School was one of 10 national officers elected to serve on the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America’s (FCCLA) National Executive Council at the National Leadership Conference in Seattle, Washington.

He is the son of Angela and Eric Weibel will be serving as FCCLA’s President throughout the 20242025 year.

The 2024 National Leadership Conference had record breaking attendance with more than 8,000 attendees present. 28 National Officer Candidates took part in the National Executive Council election process as they underwent intense interviews, a FCCLA knowledge test, and presented a prepared speech on-stage during the five-day conference.

As a National Officer, Weibel will be accompanying his team of ten other members, which make up the National Executive Council, to FCCLA National Headquarters in Herndon, Virginia for the August Planning Meeting to prepare for the year. The council will build off existing goals to prepare a program of work and as well as develop future goals for the organization.

Additionally, the officers will prepare for future workshops and meetings on the local, state, and national level during the year. Weibel will also assist in planning the focus and content of FCCLA’s 2025 National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, July 5 - 9, 2025.

“Brandon has worked for over 4 years, serving as Oklahoma’s President last year, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. He is going to lead our organization excellently this year,” said Ashley West, Brandon’s National Executive Council Adviser who serves as the Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher at Silo.

The highest leadership honor a FCCLA member can achieve is being elected to serve on the National Executive Council. FCCLA continues to provide students with employability skills with relevant youth issues of career preparation, financial literacy, environmental education, traffic safety, community service, and leadership development.
