Three people filed for Durant City Council seat Ward 2 during last week’s filing period Dec. 1-3.
Clinton Morris, Johnny Manners Jr. and Lisa Jensen filed for the seat which is a three-year unexpired term. Lauran Fuller held this seat until resigning in August.
The election will be Feb. 10 and whoever gets the most votes wins. Primary board of education elections are also on Feb. 10.
Casey Powers was the only person to file for the Durant Board of Education Office No. 1, so there will not be an election. That seat is currently held by Paul Buntz and he did not file for reelection.
Keith Eppler, Daniel Brown, Brandon Beaver and Bryce Ingram filed for Silo Public School Office No. 1 which is a five-year term.
Keith Alexander and and Joshua Wright filed for Achille Public School Office No. 1 which is a fiveyear term. Patrick M. Miller and Amber Foster filed for Caddo Public School Office No. 1, also a fiveyear term.
The school board general election will be April 7.
The following will not have elections due to only one person filing: Bennington Public School, Jaci Bates; Calera Public School, Relita Cayton; Colbert Public School, Mary Jo Thompson; Rock Creek Public School, Doyle Pair; Boswell Public School, Heather Pierce, and Kiamichi Tech Zone 5, Ron Boyer.
