A couple died during a house fire in Albany early in the morning on Oct. 31.
Services were pending at press time with Brown’s Funeral Service for Tommy Dean Allen, 67, and Diannia Louise Allen, 66.
The Albany Volunteer Fire Department told KXII television that the fire started after 3 a.m. on South Hotel Road.
In other news, 23-year-yearold Paul N. Beaty II, Duncanvillle, Texas, was killed in a crash Oct. 30 on Highway 78 about three miles north of Kemp.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Beaty was driving a 2017 Toyota eastbound at 6:50 a.m. when he attempted to pass an eastbound Freightliner truck driven by 67-year-old Darrell R. Horath, Coleman.
Beaty’s Toyota was struck by a westbound Peterbilt truck driven by 61-year-old Michael A. McCloyn, Lewisville, Texas, and then by the Freightliner.
Horath and McCloyn were not injured.
Improper overtaking by Beaty was the cause of the accident, according to OHP Trooper Christopher Smith investigated the accident, assisted by Capt. Scott Hampton, Lt. Joshua Christian and Troopers James Reinecker, Josh O’Steen and CL Parkins. The Bryan County Sheriff’s Offi ce, Achille Fire Department, Bryan County EMS, Yuba Fire Department, Colbert EMS and an Oklahoma Medical Examiner assisted at the scene.
