Beginning Fall 2025, Kiamichi Tech – Durant Campus will expand career training opportunities for local students with new and refreshed program offerings. The application period is now open to apply for Biotechnology, Cosmetology, Interactive Media and Medical Assistant (Pre-Nursing), along with all other programs offered at the campus.
Full-time career training programs at Kiamichi Tech are designed to meet the growing demands of the local workforce and support economic development in Bryan County. The decision to introduce new programs followed an extensive process of gathering input from key stakeholders. Kiamichi Tech surveyed partner school officials, high school students, parents, business leaders, and community members to ensure the new offerings align with local needs and student interests.
“It is crucial that we offer programs needed for job employment and economic development in our area,” said J. Scott Lowrance, Campus Director at Kiamichi Tech - Durant. “There was a lot of consideration, research, and planning that went into the decision to expand these offerings at our campus, and we look forward to welcoming new students in these programs in the fall.”
Biotechnology: Offering cutting- edge training in the life sciences, opening doors to careers in research, healthcare and agriculture.
Cosmetology: Offering cosmetology and barbering programs that teach all aspects of the beauty industry. With a gradual progression from mannequins to clients, this program will build both confidence and technical ability.
Interactive Media: Equipping students with skills in digital design, animation, and multimedia production for careers in the fast-growing creative and tech industries.
Medical Assistant (Pre-Nursing): Providing foundational knowledge and a pre-nursing track for students pursuing careers in healthcare, one of the most critical and rapidly expanding sectors.
Other programs offered at Kiamichi Tech – Durant include Automotive Service Technology, Computer Information Technology, HVAC Technology, Industrial Technology, Practical Nursing and Welding Technology.
