MCALESTER – Choctaw Defense Manufacturing, a tribally- owned contractor offering services to government and commercial contractors worldwide, has contracted with ELW Global to build two Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units (ROWPU), which are designed to convert potentially hazardous water into drinking water in minutes.
The ELW ROWPU is a portable, trailer-mounted water purification unit that can be easily moved to different locations to help communities in need. The system removes particles from potentially hazardous water sources and purifies the water to World Health Organization (WHO) standards. The ROWPU can filter up to 630 gallons of clean drinking water from contaminated sources per hour. This makes it one of the largest single-axle water treatment trailers on the market.
ELW Global will ship the two units made by Choctaw Defense Manufacturing to the United States Misawa Air Base in Japan to filter surface and underground water stores for purification purposes in April. This system is also designed for domestic use to help convert potentially hazardous water to clean water during disaster response and emergency relief efforts.

Through a partnership with ELW Global, Choctaw Defense Manufacturing can market the ELW ROWPU Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units to other Native American Tribes, cities, states and disaster response organizations. Alongside the trailer mounted ROWPU, prototypes to build the ELW Global Diesel Field Kitchen and Trailer Mounted Desalination units have already begun.
