Choctaw Nation Hospital recognized with Outstanding Patient Experience Award™

The Choctaw Nation Health Care Center in Talihina was awarded the Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ by Healthgrades, a leading dataled source of patient care (or healthcare) information. Using nine measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medication and post-discharge care instructions, the hospital came up tops in the nation.

“I am so proud of our staff,” said Executive Officer of Health Services, Todd Hallmark. “Each and every one of them cares for our patients as if they were their own family. We use this data, along with feedback given directly to the hospital, to increase the level of service we provide to our patients.”

Healthgrades reports statistics from patient surveys submitted directly from the patients to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The questions regarding patient experience reflect patients’ feelings about the care they received at the hospital. The scores are based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data.
