Calera Fire-Rescue’s 50th annual Chili Dinner will be from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the fire station, 108 N. McKinley Ave. Cost is $8 for all you can eat. The event benefits Calera Fire-Rescue scholarship and public safety fund.

Last week’s meeting of Book Talk had to be canceled because of inclement weather. The discussion of “Out of the Dust” will be led by Dr. Jane Hicks on February 13 instead.
