The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Children and Family Services will hold a day of fun for children and informationgathering for adults from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the Choctaw Event Center, 3702 Choctaw Rd. The Kids Fair theme is “Champions Rise.” Activities will include bounce houses, a petting zoo, diaper derby, teddy bear health checks, and a variety of games and crafts. Free hot dogs will be served. Choctaw Nation programs and services will have booths with material on abuse prevention, foster care and more.“This Kids Fair looks to be the biggest we’ve ever had,” said Foster Care Specialist Kathryn Voorhees.

The Kiwanis Club of Durant 44th annual Durant Community Prayer Breakfast Will be at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7 at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Building, 350 W. Montgomery Drive. Dr. Todd Fisher, executive director of Oklahoma Baptists, will be the featured speaker. Individuals, churches, civic organizations and businesses are invited to become Prayer Breakfast Partners by donating $100. In return, partners will receive 10 tickets to the breakfast. Proceeds support the Durant High School Baccalaureate and Spiritual Aims scholarships.
