Due to a typing error, an article in this week's Democrat on the Bryan County EMS sales tax proposition, incorrectly stated a patient would be billed for the remainder of ambulance transport. In fact, Bryan County residents will not be billed at all for transport if the tax passes.
Also, additional information provided to the Democrat after press time reveals the tax would also create a cost-sharing membership service where all Bryan County residents, regardless of their insurance status, would not pay a penny for a ride to the hospital, according to Bryan County EMS.
Voters will decide on the tax during a special election March 4.
