The Durant Police Department received its Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (OLEAP) Large Agency Accreditation during a recent meeting of the city council.
Kevin D. McCullough, program specialist, presented certificates to Chief Jesse Petty “in recognition of leadership and commitment to professional law enforcement demonstrated while successfully guiding your department to meet or exceed all applicable standards set forth by the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.”
DPD said in a social media post that this was more than an award, it represents the department’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, training, best practices, and excellence in serving the community.
“Only 21 law-enforcement agencies statewide currently hold OLEAP Large Agency Accreditation, and Durant Police Department is proud to be one of them,” DPD said.
“Accreditation means our department has been independently evaluated and recognized for meeting rigorous professional standards in policies, procedures, administration, training, operations, and service to our community.
“We are proud of the men and women of the Durant Police Department and grateful to our city leadership and citizens for their continued support.”
