Elevate Cheer participated in a recent competition at Choctaw Event Center and they earned an excellent rating.
Elevate is a cheer-abilities team, according to head coach Melanie Knight.
“This is our second season and we have eight athletes,” Knight said. “We compete in All Star Cheer competitions which includes dance, stunts, jumps and tumbling.”
Last season, Elevate won the DCC National Championship and the NTGU National Championship.
“We received a rating of superior and three firstplace finishes in addition to our two National Titles,” Knight said. “This year, we have only competed once and we received an excellent rating.
Elevate Cheer has girls from Durant, Silo, Calera, Kingston and Denison.
“We will compete seven times this season from Durant to Denton,” Knight said.
