Fortnightly Club of Durant recently presented a donation check to the Durant Independent School District Child Nutrition Services as their “National Day of Service” project.
Fortnightly Club was organized in Durant in 1902 and federated in 1903 as a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. It is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through community service.
Projects include, but are not limited to, aid to the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library, the Three Valley Museum and Crisis Control Center, Art Scholarship and Nurse Scholarship.
The student lunch program currently has $20,000+ in outstanding balances and welcomes donations from organizations as well as individuals.
