A head-on crash June 28 in Armstrong claimed the life of one person, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The driver of a 2011 Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:57 a.m. accident on Caddo Highway and Sawmill Road. The person had not been identified at press time.
According to OHP, the Mercedes was traveling eastbound on Caddo Highway when it traveled left of center and collided with a westbound 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 26-year-old Mason K. McElroy of Ardmore. McElroy was checked for minor injuries by Bryan County EMS and he was not transported to the hospital.
McElroy wore a seat belt but the driver of the Mercedes was not wearing one, according to the OHP report.
The report stated the condition of the Mercedes driver at the time of the crash is under investigation. Durant firefighters removed the victim from the Mercedes.
