A home burned Jan. 25 in Caddo, the Caddo Fire Department said.

When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and declared a total loss.

The fire department said the resident exited the house and was not injured.

CFD thanked the Caney Volunteer Fire Department for providing mutual aid.

“All Caddo FD firefighters that responded to this call left their places of employment to respond to the call,” CFD said, in a social media post. “So, if you know these firefighters and where they work, take a minute to thank their employers, supervisors and managers for allowing them to leave and help their community.”

In other emergency calls, Durant firefighters responded at 9:22 a.m. Jan. 26 to an automobile fire at 5636 Stonecreek Drive and when they arrived, there was smoke emitting from the cab of a Chevrolet pickup, according to a DFD report. A firefighter opened the driver’s side door and saw a small pile of debris on fire that appeared to be foam from the seat that had burned through. Firefighters put out the fire and the cause was undetermined.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:14 a.m. Sunday to 803 N. Sixth Avenue to help police get a woman off the roof. Firefighters retrieved a ladder when police said the woman was able to get down on her own.

According to the report, police said the woman was cut after hitting a window. Firefighters put a bandage on her wrist and washed blood off a police officer’s hand to make sure he had not been cut when helping the woman off the roof.
