Journey Stories continuing at Three Valley Museum

Three Valley Museum’s Journey Stories history presentations began Jan. 7 and continue through Jan. 30.

These are presentations about local history and feature a variety of speakers.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

LuAnn Waters of Wynnewood will present “Carved in Stone” and she will discuss the many unusual symbols found on gravestones and their meanings. She has experience reading gravestones in the U.S. and abroad.

Thursday, Jan. 16

Danny Craig will present “Tales of Kemp, Oklahoma, and Memories of Days Gone By.”

Tuesday, Jan. 21

Ken Busby, president of the Oklahoma Museum Association, will present “Get Your Kicks on Route 66.” He will explore the history of the famous highway and discuss activities planned for 2025 which will commemorate its 100th anniversary.

Thursday, Jan. 23

Mary Kathryn Hodge will present “Black History in Bryan County/Southeastern Oklahoma” that will be an inside look at the livelihood of Black people and their culture from early statehood.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

Mike Simpson will present “A Glimpse into Movie Making.”
