OHP assisting ICE with motor vehicle enforcement on undocumented immigrants

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has been working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Bryan County in Operation Guardian that officials say is a motor vehicle enforcement action.

Multiple law enforcement vehicles were seen on Highway 69/75 and at the weigh station near Colbert on Monday and people have posted on social media that they have seen numerous OHP and unmarked cars in the area.

“Operation Guardian continues to successfully keep Oklahomans safe,” said Gov. Kevin Stitt, in a news release earlier this month. “To lawfully operate a commercial motor vehicle in Oklahoma, you must be here legally, and you must be able to understand English. These are common sense standards that we will continue to enforce.”

OHP said illegal immigrants have been taken into custody during the operation.
