Parenting classes to be offered by Bryan County OSU Extension Service

The Bryan County OSU Extension Service announces their upcoming free parenting education classes.

A parenting class geared for parents with infants and toddlers, “Active Parenting First Five Years,” will be offered on Tuesdays, March 12 and 19, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Parents will need to attend both days. The four sessions will cover important topics including the stages of development, parenting skills, discipline, temperament, mindfulness, brain development, self-calming and school readiness. A basic infant care classes are available for expecting parents and new parents by request.

A parenting class geared for parents with school-aged children, “Active Parenting,” will be held on Tuesdays, March 12 and 19, 1-4 p.m.. Parents will need to attend both days. This research-based program will help parents develop cooperation, responsibility and self-esteem in their children.

All classes will be held at the Bryan County OSU Extension Office, Durant. Enrollment is required by contacting the Bryan Co.
